Outdoor Cuneo Alps

Valley italian alps

Here we are in the heart of the Parco Naturale of the Maritime Alps, the biggest protected area in Piedmont (27,945 hectares), an area rich with brooks and streams characterized high up by suggestive lakes and waterfalls.

In 1857 the whole area was decreed a Royal hunting reserve frequented by King Vittorio Emanuele II and his court. In the area the thermal establishment of Valdieri represents an important reference for tourists for its hot sulphurous waters. The Valle Gesso is particularly equipped for alpine hiking, thanks to the numerous paths of various difficulty and its many refuges all over its territory. Not to be missed the new Men and Wolves centre, the first faunistic centre entirely dedicated to the wolf in the Italian Alps.
